It was really great to meet you Isaac. I had a wonderful time, having a good lunch, strolling around for good coffee, which ended in having a diet coke, at least some cafeine in my body ;-) I hope to have some more great meetings with you.
I am looking forward to friday, meeting you again and of course some others. It was great to meet Steve in Newcastle, I wish I could have another great after-gig-beer with you. Absolutely great! And as a surprise Mark was there, which I didn't know, but after meeting him at Nigel and mine 40th birthday I was really pleased to see you!
After Isaac went to catch the train I left the hotel, again looking for some good coffee. And I found it .......... at a spanish restaurant. I had a double espresso to start the day with and after that I had a tortilla, a huge juice and a huge water as breakfast. It was at the river Tyne and I enjoyed it a lot so I was sitting there for almost 1 1/2 hour, enjoying beautiful weather. How lucky one can be!
Take care, meet you on friday again, love
IngridIngridnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6518215248277632942.post-63653817126497309222010-05-24T15:01:58.442-04:002010-05-24T15:01:58.442-04:00Shalom Ori,

I would like, however, to make one thing clear, if I may.

My "protest" has nothing to do with the variance of the set-list; even before embarking on this tour, I understood and accepted the fact that variance is not going to be a key component here.

The invariance may be due to all sorts of reasons, to which I - as well as others, including yourself I believe - may be completely oblivious and I am giving full credit to the band, that they know what they're doing.

Even though it may sound as if I am shooting myself in the foot, and may cause some readers to dislike me forever - I am calling upon all concert-goers to consider and accept the band's decisions with regards to the set-list. As talented as these musicians are, there is absolutely no way to satisfy everybody's wishes and still come up with a top-notch show. Every little detail in these shows is planned and executed perfectly right down to the T, and as time is infinite, clearly it'd be impossible for the band to provide a top-notch show with a varying set-list.

My protest, again, has *nothing* to do with the variance. It is all about my deep desire to listen to at least one of those two wonderful songs ("Before Gas & TV", "So Far from the Clyde") played live, at least once, before I meet my maker... that's all.

Having said that, thank you again for your elaborate & sensible comment. Have some good hummus for me in Tel-Aviv, will you. :-)

IsaacAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6518215248277632942.post-33660100706887574552010-05-24T14:49:46.311-04:002010-05-24T14:49:46.311-04:00Hey Isaac,
I totaly sympathize with your protest ...Hey Isaac,

I totaly sympathize with your protest regarding the set list. When the tour started, MK News published a request not to discuss set lists in order to keep the 'element of surprise' for concert goers. That notice made me hope for this tour to finally feature a lot of variation in the set list and so it seemed to be for the first few shows until it stabilzied once again. With MK's glorious back catalogue, his capability to improvise and of course with such an amazing band, one would expect him to experiment a little more instead of adhering to the same 16-17 songs thoughout the tour. Come to think of it, the set list is pretty much the same since the Shangri-La tour, with only 6-7 songs changed from tour to tour, and the DS standards being real static for years now. By no means am I writing this to discourage you, I'm sure no performance and no solo are the same from night to night. But still, it's fans like you who make me wish for the set list to 'breathe' a little. As an avid fan myself, who saw MK several times and hopes to see him a lot more in the future, I would surely hope to be surprised from time to time. Anyway, keep on having a blast in your cross-continent tour, and many thanks for sharing your experiences with the rest of us.

Ori, Tel-AvivAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6518215248277632942.post-10992044419519820762010-05-24T14:00:25.055-04:002010-05-24T14:00:25.055-04:00Beware of too many "random body movements&quo...Beware of too many "random body movements" as someone may tackle you thinking you're having an Epileptic Seizure!
